Brighton easily defeated Sheffield United 5-0

Simon Adingra's late double gave Brighton & Hove Albion a 5-0 victory over Sheffield United, who were down to 10 men for the majority of the game following Mason Holgate's red card. After Holgate, who joined United last month on loan from Everton, was sent off in the 13th minute for a knee-high foul on Kaoru Mitoma, Facundo Buonanotte and Danny Welbeck scored early in the first half.

Later, Jack Robinson turned a cross from Mitoma into his own goal in the 75th minute, and Adingra scored twice in the next seven minutes to secure Brighton's first away Premier League victory since November. Brighton had only won twice in the FA Cup, including a 5-2 victory against United at Bramall Lane in the fourth round, but this was just their second league victory of 2024.
