Brighton have come up with a surprising choice as Roberto De Zerbi's replacement, and have reached a verbal agreement with their prospective new hire.
According to Sky Sports Germany, the Seagulls are in advanced negotiations with Fabian Hurzeler, the German-American, who has been at the helm of St Pauli for the past 18 months. It is believed that Hurzeler has verbally agreed to take over as head coach of the Premier League outfit after guiding St. Pauli to the Bundesliga as champions of the second-tier.
Currently, Hurzeler remains under contract with St Pauli, which does not include an exit clause. Nevertheless, there exists a gentleman's agreement allowing him to leave if a compelling offer arises; Brighton's bid clearly meets the criteria.
Brighton’s decision to bring Hurzeler on board reflects a bold vision for the club’s future.
