Cagliari fought hard to salvage a 2-2 draw against Spezia

Joao Pedro scored twice to secure a draw for Cagliari who was hosting Spezia in the Serie A matchup. Italy’s top-flight tournament kicked off a few days back and seems like it would be an entertaining season. This was Thiago Motta’s first game in charge and Pedro has given him reasons to celebrate after the Brazilian scored his 74th and 75th goals and leveled the playing field for Cagliari who could at least walk away with one point after Emmanuel Gyasi and Simone Bastoni had put Spezia ahead.

Gyasi first put Spezia ahead at the 7th minute with a left corner shot from 25 yards away. Then Motta’s side doubled up with Bastoni’s goal defending against Verde, Gyasi, and Kelvin Amian. Cagliari then fought back from 2-0 down to levelup in the end.
