Carvalho thinks Mourinho can emulate Ferguson at United

During their time as manager and player, the relationship between Ricardo Carvalho and Jose Mourinho has always been quite a stretch one. They reached such a level of understanding between the two, that Carvalho followed Mou from Porto then Chelsea, and finally to Real Madrid. During all those years they worked together, Ricardo got to know the best and worst of Jose, that's why when ever reporters ask him about his former manager he gives a straight and certain answer.

Talking to the press at a Portugal press conference ahead of the Euro 2016, he said that Jose Mourinho is prepared to change his methods in order to succeed at a long tradition club such as Manchester United. Carvalho believes that Mou will manage the Red Devils for a long time, because he always dreamed of doing that since he started to coach Porto. Carvalho has no doubt that Jose will come out triumphant from Manchester.

"I know that Jose will be a success at Manchester United. I have no doubt that he can bring trophies back to United again and that he will make them champions. I don't know if it will be in the first year, the second year or the third, but he will win the title again. My prediction is that it will be in the second year. United have struggled since Alex Ferguson retired, but Jose can be the one to replace him. He will not worry what went before. He will want to make his own success. Jose deserves to be at the biggest clubs because he is one of the top coaches. He has the quality to make Manchester United win again."
