After being involved in a nasty feud with one of the players who has been behind him for the longest time, manager Vicente del Bosque finally worked things out with Iker Casillas. Both met at the Spanish national team training facilities in Las Rozas and discussed their differences. Their relationship is like a father to a son, it was on the very day when the Spanish Federation announced the manager's departure from the team.
An official statement read: "The president of the RFEF, Angel Maria Villar, and the national team coach, Vicente del Bosque, have held a meeting in Madrid on July 4 in which the coach informed the president of the RFEF of his decision not to continue at the head of the national team. Angel Maria Villar considers Vicente del Bosque part of Spanish football's heritage and has offered him the possibility of continuing in the federation, which has been answered positively. This offer will materialize in the coming weeks."
Del Bosque on his part confirmed that the first one to approach in order to work things out was Iker himself, for the manager it's difficult to not fix things with a player who has been practically family for such a long time. After they met, it wasn't difficult to apologize to each other for what was done and said. Iker Casillas posted a picture on Twitter that revealed the moment: "This morning, in the 'Ciudad del Futbol'. 25 years together, and more! A hug, coach! Good luck!"
