Atalanta's pursuit of Celtic midfielder Matt O'Riley has hit a snag as their third bid of £15 million, plus add-ons, was rejected by the Scottish champions. The 23-year-old has become a hot commodity across Europe, drawing attention from elite clubs such as Juventus, Atletico Madrid, and Roma. O'Riley, who is contracted with Celtic until 2027, had already seen his value recognized after the club turned down Atalanta’s initial offer and a subsequent improved bid of £14.3 million earlier this week.

His standout performance last season, where he netted 19 goals and provided 18 assists in 49 appearances, has further fueled interest in the Denmark international. Additionally, O'Riley captained Celtic in a commanding 4-0 pre-season victory over DC United, showcasing his leadership qualities. Earlier this year, Celtic rejected a £20 million offer from Atletico Madrid, emphasizing their commitment to retaining O'Riley amid the growing competition for his signature.
