Lionel Messi delivered a masterclass performance to guide Inter Miami to a clinical two-nil victory over Cruz Azul at Nu Stadium. The Argentine icon opened the scoring in the first half by heading home a precise cross from longtime teammate Luis Suarez. This pivotal strike marked Messi's historic one-hundredth goal for the American club since his high-profile arrival in mid-2023.

The victory was sealed late in the game. Brazilian midfielder Casemiro powered home a thumping header from a perfectly executed corner delivered by Messi. The triumphant result provides a dream managerial debut for newly appointed head coach Cristian Gonzalez. This Campeones Cup victory secures Miami's first piece of silverware for the current campaign, revitalizing a star-studded squad after a challenging start to the calendar year.
