Chelsea continued to explore for a dependable alternative

At the FIFA Club World Cup, Chelsea was shocked to lose to Flamengo 3-1. With their return to the Champions League, this loss has once again made it clear that the Blues must acquire a dependable centre-back before the upcoming campaign begins. Who will pair with Levi Colwill, who is predicted to start?

Marc Guehi, Illia Zabarnyi, and Jarrad Branthwaite are among the other possible center-backs Chelsea had previously been connected to. Though they are still on the club's radar, there haven't been any significant developments recently regarding the signing of any of these players.  Chelsea has continued to explore for a dependable alternative at the back with the summer transfer market now open, and it appears the team has found another young player who would be ideal for the position. The bad news is that his signature is much sought after.
