Chelsea have had numerous problems in defence this season, Pochettino's side are in tenth place in the Premier League and have conceded 31 goals and one of the causes of these problems has been injuries to Fofana, Chalobah and Badiashile.
According to The Sun, Chelsea have reportedly sent a scout seven times to watch the performances of Athletic centre-back Aitor Paredes this season, including the game in which the Spanish player scored against Sevilla.
The Basque club are going through a great moment in the Spanish league and are in fourth position in the table, being Paredes a great pillar for coach Valverde's plans and not going unnoticed by teams like Inter or Real Madrid.
