Carney Chukwuemeka has played in six official matches for this season, spending just 176 minutes on the pitch. According to SPOX, the €20m signing has only made one start in Niko Kovac's squad.
The coach shared his thoughts on the 22-year-old Englishman's current form: "Chukwuemeka hasn't had much playing time - that's worth noting. But Karim Adeyemi and Maxi Bayer have both been very good. We saw his strength against Copenhagen, even coming off the bench. Now, after these 30 minutes on the pitch, his potential has shown itself again. We have to find the right balance. He's making good moves, both physically and with the ball. However, there's room for improvement.”
Chukwuemeka joined Borussia on a permanent basis from Chelsea this summer after a six-month loan. In total, he has scored two goals and provided one assist in 23 official matches. His contract with the club runs until 2030.
