City take down West Ham by 2-1

Manchester City beat this present season's unexpected bundle West Ham, who still maintain their foothold in the top four despite the loss. Ilkay Gundogan and Fernandinho scored two goals for City before Hammer’s Manuel Lanzini's belter pulled one back in the last minute of the match. City enjoy a decent run off late after the loss to Crystal Palace last month and came into the match as favorites with a solid success over PSG in the Champions League.

Before that, tracking the top four’s progress in the Premier League, Liverpool pounded Southampton 4-0 and Diogo Jota scored twice while his teammate Virgil van Dijk scored against his former side. Liverpool is now two points away from Chelsea who was held back by Man United as the title race heads into the power-packed month of December and January.
