Last Friday during the Chile vs Bolivia match, the Bolivian National Team felt robbed when the referee called a penalty kick against them for an alleged handball committed by Luis Gutierrez. On the replay, we can appreciate that the ball does hit his elbow but there wasn't any intention because he was retrieving the arm when the ball hit him. This call was overly controversial, that's why many Bolivian players and the manager were all really upset for the decision
Manager Baldivieso was deeply angry with the final call which stripped them off that point against Chile: "It is disgraceful what has happened. It's an outrage for football. You have to ask if there is already a champion for the Copa America decided. Chile did not need the help of a referee. It hurts to lose to a penalty that was invented. I ask them to analyze the video and tell me where those eight minutes came from, too. They even put referees on that don't even speak the same language as the players."
But Chile manager Pizzi thinks the call was actually legal: "I stress the validity of this win. It was a widely deserved victory. We had chances, lots of control and everything you need to have to win. We lacked precision and more intensity in the last section, but the second half was a little closer to what we want. We faced major difficulties [against Panama]. And we will overcome. We need to improve some things, but we have to keep believing we can achieve this improvement and we can impose our game."
