Como 3-1 win over struggling Hellas Verona

Como climbed into Serie A’s top four after a 3-1 win over struggling Hellas Verona at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, extending their unbeaten run to eight games (W4, D4). The hosts, without a defeat since August, started brightly as Nico Paz hit the post with a free-kick in the fourth minute. Five minutes later, Anastasios Douvikas made no mistake, heading in Alex Valle’s cross after Verona’s defence left him unmarked.

Verona hit back through Suat Serdar, who capitalised on a mix-up between Jean Butez and Maxence Caqueret to equalise midway through the first half. Paz almost restored Como’s lead after the break with a powerful strike from distance that drew a fine save from Lorenzo Montipò. However, Como’s persistence paid off as they struck twice late on to seal another impressive victory and continue their remarkable rise.
