The hosts, who defeated Sudtirol 3-1 last week to begin their Coppa Italia campaign, were without Assane Diao, Nicolas Kuhn, and Alberto Dossena. With Matias Vecino, Samuel Gigot, Gustav Isaksen, and Patric injured following a summer in which no new acquisitions were permitted due to a transfer embargo, Alessio Romagnoli began a two-match ban for Aquile. Since he became a parent this morning and arrived at the stadium at the last minute, Nicolò Rovella was not in a fit state to begin.

Jacobo Ramon fired off target from a difficult angle, Nico Paz blasted over from the area's edge on a corner kick routine, and Mario Gila had to make a fantastic sliding tackle to stop Nico Paz inside the penalty area. Mergim Vojvoda's half-volley from beyond the box stung Ivan Provedel's gloves, while Matteo Guendouzi's scuffed finish missed a powerful first touch from Matteo Cancellieri.
