Tuesday was Como's first Serie A victory in more than 20 years when they upset Atalanta 3-2 in a game that had been postponed due to heavy rain in Bergamo that rendered the field unusable. Como, led by Cesc Fabragas, overcame a volley from Davide Zappacosta in the 18th minute to win the whole Italian top division for the first time since defeating Torino on the last day of the 2002–03 campaign.
Just after the break, Gabriel Strefezza's excellent attempt gave Como a point, and in the fifty-fourth minute, they took the lead when Sead Kolasinac, via unlucky circumstance, turned Nico Paz's strike into his own goal. Alieu Fadera's incredible solo goal against neighboring Lombardy team Atalanta sealed a historic victory for Como and astonished the home crowd.
