Copa America Centenario: Colombia vs Chile preview

After the absolute battering that Champions Chile gave to Mexico last Saturday, the current Copa America champions will try to get to their second consecutive final of this tournament as they clash against the Colombia National team. As one of the favorite sides of the tournament, Chile has the competition's top scorer in Eduardo Vargas who has already scored six goals so far in the competition. Four of which he got against Mexico last Saturday.

But Vargas doesn't want to believe that his side is the favorite for this second semifinal, Colombia is also one of the tournament's most complete and dangerous teams. He told the press that:  "We don't consider ourselves favorites at all. We played a good game against Mexico, but we know how complicated Colombia will be. The Mexico game has passed, so we are thinking about Colombia and how we must face them. It will be hard."

Vargas is concerned that Chile won't count with Arturo Vidal for this match after getting suspended against Mexico for getting a new yellow card: "The most important thing I have ever achieved in my career was to have lifted the Copa America trophy. It was our first and we are fighting to do it again. The group is united, happy and that always reflects on and off the pitch. We have confidence and we will give 100 percent."

Manager Jose Pekerman believes that despite not having Vidal, Chile is still one of the most dangerous teams in the tournament: "Chile are not only Vidal, they are a very good team. We will not be complacent because whoever it will be that replaces Vidal has the same capabilities."

AC Milan centre-forward Carlos Bacca also added: "We know what he [Vidal] contributes to Chile individually, but they are a team, they are champions."

Possible lineups:

Colombia starting lineup (4-2-3-1 formation): Ospina; Arias, Zapata, Murillo, Diaz; Sanchez, Torres; Cuadrado, Cardona, Rodriguez; Bacca

Chile starting lineup (4-3-3 formation): Bravo; Fuenzalida, Medel, Jara, Beausejour; Aranguiz, Diaz, Vidal; Puch, Vargas, Sanchez
