Copa America Centenario: Ecuador vs Haiti Preview

After getting similar results in their first two games for Group B, the Ecuador National team still has a chance to get their ticket to the next round as long as they defeat Haiti and Peru lose against Brazil in their respective match. The Peruvian national team still has five points, the same amount that Ecuador can get if they defeat the Haitian National Team this Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

Ecuadorian skipper Ayovi knows what's at stake here: "We have to win to qualify, we have the chance and everything depends on us. We have a great team and know what we should do, we are speaking positively and hopefully that will help us. Haiti is a team that has interesting aspects, we know it will be a tough opponent. We hope to create our own opportunity and be the team we were against Peru. It's not easy to score two goals, but you have to work towards that possibility. We want to qualify."

As far as the Haiti National Team is concerned, they are just grateful they were actually able to even score a goal against Brazil. Despite losing their last two games with an aggregate of 8-1 between the two, they are deeply humbled with the organizers for allowing them to compete in this Copa America Centenario. They will attempt to make a honorable exit from their first participation in this tournament's history.

Possible lineups:

Ecuador starting lineup (4-2-3-1 formation): Dominguez; Paredes, Mina, Erazo, Ayovi; Gruezo, Noboa; A. Valencia, Bolaños, Montero; E. Valencia.

Haiti starting lineup (4-1-4-1 formation): Placide; Goreux, Genevois, Jerome, Jaggy; Alexandre; Alcenat, Marcelin, Lafrance, Louis; Belfort.
