Cremonese defeats Salernitana 2-0: A memorable finish

After a difficult season that saw injuries to Cyril Dessers, Vlad Chiriches, and Marco Benassi, Cremonese announced their departure from Serie A. Salernitana on the other side was injury ridden as well. After a VAR on-field review for the clumsy Bohinen challenge on Cristian Buonaiuto, the hosts were granted a penalty, which Buonaiuto himself converted for his first Serie A goal of the year. Lassana Coulibaly brushed the woodwork by pouncing on a loose ball while Antonio Candreva's deflected shot was fingertipped out from under the bar.

Later with a flawless left-foot curler from the area's edge into the far top corner, Frank Tsadjout put an end to it. A penalty was given to Salernitana during stoppages, but it was overturned following a VAR on-field review because Junior Sambia appeared to have collided with Emanuel Aiwu. Additionally, Candreva put the ball in the goal, but only after straying offside.
