Crystal Palace and Fulham settles for a goalless draw

In a lacklustre first half, the visitors had the better opportunities, but Palace custodian Sam Johnstone saved them both. He first parried Andreas Pereira's angled shot to safety before diving low to his left to stop Willian's attempt. In addition, Raul Jimenez, who joined Fulham from Wolverhampton Wanderers without ever scoring a competitive goal, stung Johnstone's hands with a hard shot after settling for Pereira's long pass.

Palace's best danger came from Eberechi Eze, who first drilled a long-range free kick straight at Bernd Leno before shooting just wide from the outside of the penalty box. In a similarly erratic second half, chances were few and far between. Willian fired at Johnstone from the corner of the six-yard box, and late on, replacement Jean-Philippe Mateta shot a feeble attempt into Leno's arms. Following Nottingham Forest's loss to Manchester City, both teams move up one spot in the standings, with Palace moving up to eighth and Fulham moving up to ninth.
