Danny Blind puts England as title candidates

The Netherlands' manager Danny Blind, has jumped on the bad wagon of the people who are convinced that England will be one of the strongest title contender for the next European Championship in France this summer. The manager gave a press conference ahead of next Tuesday's friendly between England and Holland and discussed the best players the Three Lions have to play against them. Blind expects a better result after the defeat against France last week.

“It will be tough. They (England) did a great job in the qualifiers. They won the Group in an impressive way. You can see the confidence they have and the feeling they can be important in France. There is a balance of players like Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane and Dele Alli and also some experienced ones like Wayne Rooney and Chris Smalling. The team is doing well and has confidence. That’s an important quality which helps you grow as a team.”

“England is a great opponent for us and we are looking forward to it. Every game we play between now and the World Cup qualifiers, we have to play like it is a qualifying game. We have to take it seriously, it’s the only way we can approach it and, in that sense, there are no friendly games for us at the moment.”
