De Jong returned to training with the rest of the squad

Following their impressive 3-1 victory over Deportivo Alavés, a result that provisionally elevated them to the table's summit, FC Barcelona held a standard recovery training session on Sunday. The session notably saw midfielder Frenkie De Jong rejoin the group, whereas Ronald Araujo was still missing. De Jong had been a late withdrawal from the squad facing Vitoria due to personal reasons, while Araujo was absent because of a stomach virus.

The Dutch international trained normally, meaning he is expected to be available for selection tonight against Atlético de Madrid. However, the Uruguayan centre-back remains a significant doubt for the crucial La Liga encounter after missing Sunday's session at the Ciutat Esportiva.

Workloads varied depending on minutes played against Alavés. Youth players Eder Aller, Dro Fernández, Tommy Marqués, and Jofre Torrents joined in. Meanwhile, long-term absentees Fermin Lopez, Gavi, and Ter Stegen continued with their specific recovery programmes to regain fitness.
