Roberto De Zerbi has acknowledged uncertainty surrounding Richarlison’s future at Tottenham, despite emphasising the striker’s value and professionalism. The Italian coach praised the Brazilian’s attitude and contribution, noting his 12‑goal return last season, but admitted the player has given mixed indications about whether he wants to stay.
De Zerbi explained that while he admires Richarlison “as a player and as a guy,” the club must ultimately respect whatever decision he makes. He added that everyone within Spurs understands the forward’s position, even if his intentions remain unclear. Asked directly whether Richarlison wants to leave, De Zerbi said he “didn’t understand well,” as the striker has alternated between expressing a desire to remain and to move on.
Despite the ambiguity, De Zerbi insisted there is no issue between Richarlison and the club, stressing his importance to the squad and noting that finding a comparable striker would be far from easy.
