Napoli sought to extend their unbeaten start to the season under new manager Rudi Garcia, and they started well, dominating the opening minutes against Lazio with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia up to his regular tricks out wide. He fired a warning shot wide at the Biancocelesti, who had yet to take the field. Lazio on the other hand was hoping to make a comeback after the disappointing loss to Genoa. Maurizio Sarri’s side visibly struggled against the skilled Napoli players.

Later momentum shifted in favor of Lazio when Felipe Anderson entered the field. The Brazilian raised his head and noticed Luis Alberto, who was entirely unnoticed at the near post. Alberto completed with a fantastic backheel past the hapless Alex Meret in one graceful stroke. While Scudetto holders made a comeback later to level the scoreboard, another effortless play by Anderson, Alberto, and Daichi Kamada saw the Japanese international score the winning goal and take away three points from the champions.
