Dempsey wants to win the Copa America

This is just wishful thinking, not even the fact that the USMNT is playing with their own crowd can change that other teams such as Argentina or Mexico have a better chance at lifting the Copa America Centenario. However, there is nothing wrong with desiring something and fighting however they can to get it. American midfielder Clint Dempsey, who was the team's hero against Ecuador last Thursday, was a little over excited after the match.

Talking to the press, he said that the Americans actually have a chance of winning the tournament without even considering the other big contenders for the title. But hey, keep on dreaming buddy. So this is what he said: "We're going to give it everything we can. We're trying to get to the final. We're going to try to win it. You don't get a lot of opportunities in a major competition to go all the way. That's what we're going to try to do."

About his role in the game, Dempsey added: "It's always great to do it when you're at home. It's always great to do it for the States. It's what you dream about as a kid. So I'm blessed. Hopefully we can keep going. We're still alive in this tournament. And we're in the semi-finals of a major competition. So we're happy."
