Dinamo Zagreb defeated AC Milan 2-1

Even though Dinamo Zagreb defeated AC Milan 2-1 in the last group match on Wednesday, they were eliminated from the Champions League on goal differential. The Polish team, who ended 25th but tied for points with Manchester City, Sporting, and Club Brugge above them, missed out on a berth in the next round on goal differential. In the meanwhile, following a terrible away trip that also saw Yunus Musah sent off in the first half, AC Milan had to settle for a play-off position rather than one in the round of 16.

Martin Baturina was on hand to profit from a Matteo Gabbia mistake and get Dinamo ahead on 19 minutes, before Musah was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 39th minute. Eight minutes into the second half, Milan pulled even despite the man disadvantage when Christian Pulisic came in from the right and sent a shot into the bottom corner.
