Dortmund pulls off an incredible comeback to secure a Champions League spot

Borussia Dortmund's remarkable late-season run culminated with a 3-0 victory at home against a 10-man Holstein Kiel on Saturday, guaranteeing them a spot in the Champions League next season. Dortmund, who were in 11th position just seven weeks ago, moved up to fourth place after winning 22 of a possible 24 points in their last eight league games, surpassing Freiburg, who suffered a 3-1 home loss to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Serhou Guirassy's penalty kick in the third minute gave Dortmund, who hadn't been in the top four since the conclusion of matchday three in September, a great start against their already-relegated opponents. Marcel Sabitzer added a second with a deflected low drive two minutes after halftime, and Felix Nmecha made it three with 73 minutes left.
