Como continued their impressive campaign with a convincing victory over Sassuolo, as Douvikas struck twice to deliver three valuable points.

The hosts threatened early, but Lucas Da Cunha saw his effort ruled out for offside. Sassuolo also had a goal disallowed before halftime, with Darryl Bakola denied his first goal in Italian football.

Fabregas responded to the goalless opening period with three substitutions, and the change quickly paid dividends. Four minutes after the restart, Douvikas converted Maxence Caqueret’s low delivery to break the deadlock.

The pair combined again on the hour mark, with Caqueret capitalising on a Sassuolo turnover before setting up Douvikas for his fifth goal in four matches.

Como secured their second clean sheet of the season, reaching 17 points after eight games for the first time in club history. Sassuolo remain 14th, winless in 11 consecutive away league fixtures.
