Drogba knows who should win the Ballon d'Or

During his time as a Chelsea player, you could see how much Ivorian striker Didier Drogba enjoyed playing against Ronaldo and Manchester United. Both players even met during major tournaments like the World Cup back in 2010, they became friends since they played against each other in the Premier League and haven't really stopped communicating with each other since. For Drogba, there is not better player than Ronaldo because he has proved several times how good he is by winning trophies and scoring incredible amounts of goals throughout the years.

This year was all Ronaldo's because he won the UEFA Champions League by scoring the most decisive penalty from the stop during the shoot-out against Atletico Madrid. Soon after that, he led Portugal to win their first ever major trophy at the European Championship in France. That has to be more than enough for Ronaldo to be considered the absolute best player of 2016, Drogba is convinced he is the one who will take the Ballon d'Or home.

During a media conference in Montreal, Drogba spoke about the many times he faced Ronaldo and the good memories he has of the Portuguese player: "I played against Cristiano in the 2008 Champions League final that Manchester United won. He's a real leader and he deserves to win the Ballon d'Or for his great performances both for Real Madrid and Portugal. Although he wasn't on the pitch at the final whistle, he was still the main reason why they got that far."
