In the meantime, it looks as if another one might be headed for the exit door. Striker Elye Wahi passed his scheduled medical and was officially unveiled as a new signing.
Wahi inked a new contract with the club valid until 2030. Kicker affirms its earlier report of a €20m base-transfer-fee plus €5m in performance incentive add-ons. Eintracht have thus re-invested one-quarter of the €75m they reportedly received from Omar Marmoush’s sale to Manchester City.
“We have been interested in Elye Wahi for quite some time and we are pleased that he will play for Eintracht Frankfurt with immediate effect,” Eintracht board-member-for-sport Markus Krösche noted in a statement.
Wahi may very well not receive the chance to play alongside fellow Frenchman Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe, as it appears as if Krösche and his administrative team have finally found a solution for the underutilized 24-year-old.
