Empoli and Venezia shared the spoils in a thrilling 2-2 draw

The Tuscans are yet to win in Serie A in 2025, therefore the search for a win at the Stadio Castellani continues. They had a number of early opportunities, including one that may have been an own goal when Ionut Radu parried and the Cande clearing bounced off teammate Doumbia and missed.

Devis Vasquez was also on the lookout for the Hans Nicolussi Caviglia free kick, but on minute 34, the custodian had to make an incredible stop on Doumbia after the cross from Alessio Zerbin gave Venezia a great chance. On the hour mark, Jacopo Fazzini broke the tie after Liam Henderson robbed Gianluca Busio in midfield and his cross found the midfielder for a spectacular volley, his season's first goal. But Venezia turned it around, with Busio leaping from point-blank range on a blocked Christian Gytkjaer effort and Yeboah poised to exploit Vasquez flailing at a corner.
