Eric Garcia set to miss Espanyol derby

Eric Garcia was included in Barcelona's starting lineup for last week's encounter against Bayern Munich, but he was pulled out due to an unfortunate injury sustained during a pregame warm-up. Fermin Lopez was brought in by the manager to replace him, and the rest is history. The La Masia prodigy generated many big opportunities, registered two crucial passes, and provided two assists. Garcia was originally anticipated to recover from his adductor muscle injury in time to play Espanyol in La Liga later this week, but SPORT reveals that this may not happen.

Earlier today, at Barcelona's last training session before the derby, the defender did not exercise with the first team. While his recovery is going well and he has returned to training in some capacity, he was still working away from the group individually.
