Espanyol registers their first away win

Espanyol scored the winning goal and registered their first away win against Valencia in the Spanish League. Espanyol players had to find the goal twice during the match to steal a win with 2-1 at Mestalla. Raul de Tomas and Javi Puado netted for Espanyol before that Valencia had pulled one back, as Omar Alderete found a win at 51st minute.

The team looked in lethal form but Espanyol substitute Jofre Carreras later changed the flow of the match as he was fouled by Hugo Duro in the 82nd which saw Duro earn his second yellow card and the resultant penalty was converted successfully by De Tomas. Valencia came close to a leveler in stoppage time but he missed the opportunity when his header found the crossbar instead of the net.
