Espanyol wrapped up with Valencia draw

With the draw against Valencia, the curtains have come down for Espanyol on their La Liga campaign in Catalonia. Neither of the two teams had anything much to play for the weekend of the domestic season before the low-key encounter at the RCDE Stadium. The game was initiated by the hosts, Espanyol under the guidance of Luis Blanco.
Maxi Gomez hit a goal for his side but the visitors didn’t keep watching. Raul de Tomas netted his 17th La Liga goal of the campaign for Espanyol. Valencia will now complete their league season against mid-table side Celta Vigo next weekend while Espanyol will not go to relegation to face Granada, as the 2021/22 campaign reaches its climax.
