Being one of the worst sides in the European Championship's Group F, the Austria National team is looking to clash against debutant side Iceland, who are looking to keep making history and maybe win their first ever major tournament game. Their best chance is to trust Bayern Munich full-back David Alaba, who plays in a more offensive position with his national team and will be their trump card for this next match against the Iceland side.
RB Leipzig player Ilsanker is aware of how important David is, he told the press that: "He is the best player in Austria for ages. No one can win a game alone. I do not understand all the fuss and criticism. He has brought us to France with his goals in the first place."
On the good news side for Austria, is defender Aleksandar Dragovic's return who served a suspension and will be available to play against the Iceland national team. Their manager Lagerback expects his side is brave enough to face this game with all they got and not falter: "I knew it could be a tight group, but thought that Portugal would have more points. The smaller countries are getting better, they have a lot of players abroad, in strong leagues, at good clubs. Therefore, it is becoming ever closer. Not many games are decided by more than one goal. There are not many goals."
Possible lineups:
Iceland starting lineup (4-4-2 formation): Halldorsson; Saevarsson, Arnason, R. Sigurdsson, Skulason; Gudmundsson, Gunnarsson, G. Sigurdsson, Bjarnason; Sigborsson, Bodvarsson.
Austria starting lineup (4-2-3-1 formation): Almer; Klein, Prödl, Hinteregger, Fuchs; Ilsanker, Baumgartlinger; Sabitzer, Alaba, Arnautovic; Harnik.
