European Super Cup preview: Real Madrid vs Sevilla

Already knowing that Cristiano Ronaldo isn't available for this match, Real Madrid has many more problems for this European Super Cup this next Tuesday. Zinedine Zidane won't have Gareth Bale, Pepe, Toni Kroos, Keylor Navas and Karim Benzema. Possibly the most important players in all their roster apart from Modric, Casemiro and Sergio Ramos. However, they will count with Alvaro Morata who will most likely start for Real Madrid against Sevilla this Tuesday.

Out of those six players who won't be available, only Ronaldo and Navas are injured. Bale, Pepe and Kroos have just arrived from their holiday and won't be able to play. Karim Benzema has been recovering from a hip problem and will be available to use during the second half in case of emergency, but Zidane doesn't want to risk the French striker. Club skipper Sergio Ramos is aware of how delicate their situation is, but none of his teammates will shy away from the challenge.

He said: "We are missing some important players, but we are happy with the squad we have. We will give our all with the players we have. The players who are there are determined to show what they can do. It's never too soon to play a game like this. We have enjoyed a good pre-season. It is always great to play finals like this and it would be amazing to get the season underway by winning a title. We are all looking forward to it. It is always special to play against Sevilla. Madrid and Sevilla are the two teams in my life and this will never change. I have a lot of love for Sevilla, but Tuesday I will looking to win with Madrid."

On Sevilla's side, Vicente Iborra also added: "For us, the favorites are Real Madrid. Madrid are almost always the favorites. That does not mean we come to see what happens. We become the protagonists and to want to win. We come to win, and we have our weapons to harm them. Being the skipper is a nice responsibility. I am prepared to [lead] with the help of other colleagues who are also leaders. What matters is that everything is for the good of the group and we do it in the best way so that, later, on the field, we are a family."
