In a busy week for Borussia Dortmund bosses, the Black and Yellows confirmed the permanent transfer of Fabio Silva from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Multiple reports mentioned the transfer fee is around €25 million, including bonuses.
“We needed a lot of patience to assert our ideas, and are now happy to have committed a player with great potential in Fabio Silva,” said director of sport Lars Ricken after the signing.
“Fabio brings a lot of quality that can be used flexibly in several positions. All this and the fact that he is a success-driven striker make this transfer very valuable for us,” added Sebastian Kehl.
“To sign for a club like Dortmund is something very special for me,” said the striker who featured once for the Portugal national team. “This club has an enormous charisma, not only in Germany, but throughout Europe. I know BVB as a passionate club with incredible fans.”
