Protests with black smoke thrown onto the pitch and invasion of the field by at least one supporter led to the game between Groningen and Ajax, in the Dutch league, being permanently suspended.
In the seventh minute of the challenge of the 32nd round of the Eredivisie, with Groningen already relegated, Ajax was preparing to take a corner when black smoke was thrown by the local fans onto the field of play.
At the same time, a fan, who was holding a sign protesting the relegation of Groningen, burst onto the pitch of the Euroborg stadium, dodging security forces until he was apprehended.
However, the footballers retired to the changing rooms: the referee still tried to resume the challenge, but in a couple of minutes the situation repeated itself and he realized that he would not be successful, suspending the match definitively.
