Colombia's game level of the past five years, have been in par with the appearance of key players such as Juan Cuadrado or James Rodriguez. During the last World Cup back in 2014 in Brazil, they Colombia National team was among the most exciting sides of the tournament. They displayed a gorgeous style of football which enamored most of the people who saw them, whether they were from Colombia or not.
This lively Latin style, has been among the most hypnotizing manners of playing the sport we can remember. That's why this national team has become one of the most followed in football today, their joyful style has reached every corner in the world to both kids and adults who enjoy the beautiful sport. They have been a part of FIFA's top 10 ranking several times and even reached the top three spot a couple of times in the past five years.
For manager Jose Pekerman, Colombia's progress has been quite evident: "During these past years, Colombia have showed an important level and have gained the respect of all the national teams in the world. Colombia have set up at a place where they haven't been for a long time and that was possible by been the protagonist, by having a clear idea of how to compete in order to win and never stop attacking.
"Colombia always tried to find in the capabilities of his players, the freedom to play in a responsible way and with efficiency and with balance. We have always mentioned those three words: balance, efficiency and audacity. And try to play good football. Under this criteria, we are driven in any circumstance – qualifying, World Cup, friendly or in the Copa America."
