France: Lille thumped Paris Saint-Germain to put title celebrations on ice

Paris Saint-Germain crumbled to a shock 5-1 defeat against Lille to put their title celebrations on hold. It started poorly for the Parisians when Thomas Meunier turned the ball into his own goal, but Juan Bernat levelled shortly after and order was restored.

But then Bernat got sent off 10 minutes before half-time and what happened after the break could not have been predicted.PSG capitulated, and Lille ran riot. Nicolas Pépé put the hosts ahead again just six minutes after the restart. Jonathan Bamba and Gabriel scored within five minutes of one another to make it four, and Jose Fonte rounded off the scoring to deliver a humiliation slip to the champions elect.

This is the first time in the Qatari era that PSG have conceded five goals in a Ligue 1 match; the last time it happened was in 2000, when the Parisians lost 5-1 at Sedan.
