Funes Mori hopes Messi comes back to Argentina

Everybody is currently still in shock after Lionel Messi broke the news of his retirement from the national team last month. The Argentina players are the most surprised ones because they weren't expecting this to come so soon, Leo isn't even 30 years of age yet and it kinda seems like he still has at least one more major tournament to play in his career. But for centre-back Funes Mori, remembering that moment is still sad.

Talking to the Liverpool Echo, the Everton man said: "It was said at a sad moment, not just for Messi, but for all of us. We wanted to win the cup but at the end of the day we couldn't make it but hopefully he decides to come back. Maybe he said it in a moment when he was mad but hopefully for football, for the people and for everything, we need these kinds of players because they are different."

We won't really know how Leo Messi will feel towards his national team until we see him smile once again with FC Barcelona, the club that will forever love and respect him. But we are sure that ego will somehow take a hold of Messi and just out of pride he will return with a vengeance and that desire to win a major trophy burning hotter than ever before inside of him.
