Gavin Bazunu has almost secured a move to Southampton

Southampton’s Fraser Forster left a gap in the team’s squad after he moved to Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer. The Saints have thus set about on finding a replacement for Forster and have set their sight on Manchester City goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu. The club is even close to close to making a deal official for the 20-year-old Republic of Ireland international which could even cross the £10 million mark.

Alex McCarthy has gotten comfortable in the club, Southampton needs a player to drive internal competition and push McCarthy for number one shirt. Bazunu served the last season on loan at Portsmouth and bagged the south coast side’s player of the season award. Both the Premier League sides have been involved in negotiations for the past two weeks and the chances of Saints getting Bazunu’s signature look good.
