Genoa defeated Parma 1-0

Genoa defeated Parma to get their first home win of the season thanks to a deflected effort from Morten Thorsby.

Both teams were hovering just above the danger zone coming into the second half of the season, with only one point separating them. Both teams experienced an injury crisis; the hosts were without Vitinha, Caleb Ekuban, Ruslan Malinovskyi, Brooke Norton-Cuffy, and Honest Ahanor. Dennis Man returned to the bench following a back injury, although Gianluca Di Chiara, Yordan Osorio, Nahuel Estevez, Adrian Bernabé, Mateusz Kowalski, Alessandro Circati, and Gabriel Charpentier did not go. Woyo Coulibaly and Alessandro Vogliacco were excluded from the list of pending transfers. When a corner fell at the feet of Johan Vasquez from 12 yards out in the 22nd minute, new Genoa owner Dan Sucu was in the seats for the first time and nearly witnessed a goal, but Zion Suzuki parried the rebound after Emanuele Valeri charged down his first attempt.
