Gerard Pique takes second pay cut

Barcelona are purportedly hoping to cut the wages of star player including Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets as they hope to enlist new signings like Robert Lewandowski before the beginning of the new season.

This would be a second pay cut for Gerard Pique as the financial woes of the La Liga giants continues. The team has to either offload a number of players or cut back on their wage bill as per La Liga before they can register new mid-year signings. Barca start off their mission against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday night however could be without a large group of key reinforcement, including Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Jules Kounde. The Catalan giants have not yet had the option to enroll a portion of their newcomers because of compensation limits given to them by La Liga.
