Getafe kept their perfect start intact with a 2-1 victory at Sevilla, making them one of just five clubs to win both opening games of the new season. Adrian Liso was once again the difference, scoring twice to take his tally to three goals in two matches.
Liso’s opener came after 15 minutes, a strike that found the net with the aid of a deflection. Sevilla were given hope before the break when Juan Iglesias, under pressure, headed into his own goal. But six minutes after the restart, Liso restored Getafe’s advantage with a calm and clinical finish that silenced the home crowd. Sevilla pushed for an equaliser but were unable to find a breakthrough, leaving them still searching for their first points. They sit among Girona, Oviedo, and Levante as the only teams yet to get off the mark.
