Ghana lose Ethan Ampadu to Wales
10.09.18 / 13:30
All hope is lost for Ghana to naturalise Chelsea Youngster Ethan Ampadu after he played his first competitive match for Wales in the UEFA Nations League.
Ampadu first featured for the dragons in a friendly against France in 2017 but according to FIFA rules, Ampadu was still eligible to play for the Blackstars since friendly games do not bar a player from making a change of national team.
The son of former professional footballer Kwame Ampadu was handed his first competitive playing time for Wales by head coach Ryan Giggs in their game against Ireland.
The 17-year-old impressed greatly and provided an assist for Arsenal ace, Aaron Ramsey, to score the third goal that led to Wales winning 4-1.
