Girona defeated Leganes 4-3

Girona defeated Leganes 4-3 at the Estadi Montilivi on Saturday in a thrilling seven-goal match to get back to winning ways in La Liga. When Miguel Gutierrez's shot, assisted by visiting goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic, struck the back of the net in the twenty-first minute, the thrilling match sprang to life. Girona's happiness was short-lived, though, as four minutes later Renato Tapia gave Leganes the equalizer, but Arnau Martinez's header gave the home team the lead again.

But after an exciting first forty-five minutes in which there were fifteen shots between the two teams, Juan Cruz tied the score once more four minutes before halftime. After Matija Nastasic had fouled Bojan Miovski, substitute Cristhian Stuani gave Girona the lead for the third time from the penalty spot, putting the ball past Dmitrovic. Girona's fourth goal came when Sergio Gonzalez sent Daley Blind's ball past his own goalie, but there was still more drama to come.
