Girona defeated Osasuna 4-0

Girona were heavily defeated by Atletico Madrid over the weekend. However, they rebounded in their first home game of the season, thrashing Osasuna 4-0 at Montilivi. Osasuna managed only one shot, which was not on target, in the game they won no corners and had only two touches in Girona's penalty box. Bryan Gil's first goal for the club since signing earlier this summer gave Michel Sanchez's team an early lead. The Tottenham Hotspur loanee volleyed home Viktor Tsyhankov's cross with great precision.

Tsygankov scored the second after 53 minutes. Three minutes later, Girona's Abel Ruiz scored his first goal with Gil. Yangel Herrera set up the Olympic gold medalist's strike. Cristhian Stuani, the club's all-time leading scorer, added his fourth in the 90th minute. Girona had started the campaign with a draw and a defeat. Osasuna recorded a draw and a victory in its first two matches.
