Godfred Donsah thrilled to sign contract extension at Bologna

Ghanaian midfielder Godfred Donsah has signed a contract extension with Italian Club Bologna.

The 23-year-old will no longer be leaving the Serie A side this summer after signing a fresh deal to keep him at the Club until 2022.

Donsah had just one year left on his contract but had further penned a new three-year contract.

He however expressed delight after signing a new deal with the Club.

“I am very happy to commit my future with this Club, the people of Bologna have been very good to me since I arrived,” he said.

“I see this place as my home and I am very comfortable here, I will try and give out my best for the Club,”

The latest development will ward off interest from Clubs who were willing to lure the player from Bologna.

The former Ghana U20 star was a big target for Inter Milan, AC Milan, AS Roma and Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.

Having joined Bologna from Cagliari three seasons ago, the midfielder has grown to become a big part of the Bologna team.

He was a member of the Black Satellites team at the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand.
