It's a fact that Manchester City is also one of the top title contenders as it was expected, the Citizens are playing some of the most competitive football in England right now. Alongside Manchester United and Chelsea, all three sides have proved that they have what it takes to compete for the Premier League title this season. But City is truly making all their fans enjoy every second of it. With braces by both Aguero and Nolito, Guardiola's boys played some of the best football there is to give at Stoke City this Saturday in their 4-1 victory.
After the match, Guardiola was extremely happy with everything he saw. He spoke to Sky Sports: "I liked everything I saw. I am really impressed with the quality of the players and their performance. We defended high and compact with the second ball. It was a pity to concede the penalty in the first minutes of the second half. But in the first half, we played good and just missed the last pass. We arrived many times in the box with one against one. We created a lot of counterattacks in the second half, good situations, but the final ball was not good. We have to try and finish the action.
"We have only had one month together, there is time to get better. It is always tough to play here. With the corners it is difficult and the crowd is amazing. They have a lot of quality with the likes of Bojan and [Marko] Arnautovic, and we were lucky [Xherdan] Shaqiri was not there. It's impossible to say what we can achieve. In a short time and in the way we've played the last two games, they've shown me how intelligent they are. They have a lot of quality and that's why we can show it here, at one of the toughest games in the Premier League with the wind, the slow pitch.
"We suffered for five minutes after they scored but after that they didn't create many chances. After the 2-1 we were stable again and created a lot of 'almost' chances. We missed the last pass. But the rest, we saw again an amazing team spirit, how they communicated, celebrated the goals and with the fans. That's the first step. I'm a little bit surprised at the level we've played here and in Bucharest after a short time. We've scored nine goals in two games. It was a nice week for us. Of course we have to have respect for Steaua in the second game, but it's almost done."
