Guardiola hails Fernandinho's versatility

Not all is lost for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, there were actually many good reactions from his technical staff with some players who have surprised him vastly due to their great shape and amazing capacity to play many roles inside the team. But perhaps the player who has surprised him the most is Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho, the player is according to Pep a multi-tasker who he can trust completely.

Talking to the press about the player, Guardiola said: "I think Fernandinho can play in 10 positions. He has the quality to play wherever. He's a quick, fast player, so intelligent, aggressive and strong in the air. He could play at centre-back. He has the quality to create good build-up play. We think he can play there. I like midfielders to play at centre-back because they can play good passes."

About his new lifestyle at City, Guardiola was very grateful: "I want to say thank you so, so much to my players for the way they train, the way they try to understand me. Every manager has their own ideas from the beginning to speak, to train, to know the way they want to live. That’s all. For the coaches it’s impossible to achieve a victory when the player doesn’t want it but that is not the case – they are great human beings and great players."
